DEATH STAR!

In celebration of this weeks Force Awakens premier we present to you Death Star! Finally an indica that is appropriate for night and day time. Of course it would be named after Star Wars. Death Star is a blend of the indica strain Sensi Star and the sativa Sour Diesel. Both strains have such dramatic effects that you would think the high from them being put together would drive you insane. Death Star is known to be a heavy indica, which is true but, the amount of euphoria that it takes from its sativa side is amazing. This strain is recommended for daytime or nighttime. It has great pain relief and tones of mental help. I would say this is a great strain to keep around for an anytime use. Its fairly popular now-a-days so, i'm sure you won't have trouble finding it! Keep it real! -Colin

November Favorites!

November to me just screams BLACK FRIDAY, so as soon as it started, and I started my job at H&M again, I started to prepare for that nightmare instantly.

BEAUTY

Red Eyeshadow

Something about red eyeshadow looks just screams, "idgaf about your natural beauty standards, I'm a boss bitch," so obviously, I'm into it. I did a red eye like the one above, for Thanksgiving dinner at my mom's house, but of course was too concerned about stuffing my face with home cooked Puerto Rican food, that I didn't get any pictures unfortunately.... But it's not something that I won't be doing again, so I'll get a picture eventually.

FASHION

Corset / Underbust

I've been wearing my corset a lot more recently, and falling more in love with it every time I put it on. Hand in hand with this part of my favorites, goes body con dresses and skirts. I've never really liked wearing dressing and skirts that hugged my whole body because I don't have a lot of shape in my mid section, but with my corset, it's literally all I want to wear ever.

MUSIC

BANKS

Screen Shot 2015-12-01 at 9.55.24 PM.png

I've been really into Pandora recently, and my girlfriend put me onto Marian Hill, and their radio station on Pandora because that's what she usually has playing when she gets ready for the day, and I loved everything I heard, so of course, I added it to my Pandora, and a bunch of music by Banks came up! I've listened to her a bit before, but never was committed or added any of her music to my playlists on Spotify. I. AM. SO. ADDICTED. NOW. THOUGH. I can't express enough how perfect she is. My favorite songs would have to be Better, Brain, and Bedroom Wall. I'm hooked.

INSTAGRAM

@BRETMANROCK

Where do I even start..... The first video of Bretman's that I saw was his HOW TO CONTOUR VIDEO I remember being in tears watching it, because it was seriously, the funniest shit I'd ever seen. Bretman is hilarous, adorable, and can beat a mug for DAYYYYYYYYS. What a queen.

SEPTEMBER FAVORITES!

2015 needs to slow down, because I feel like I did my August favorites yesterday...... LETS GET RIGHT INTO IT!!!!!!!!

BEAUTY :

Sephora Bright Future Gel Serum

Contouring is still the huge make up trend still this month it seems, and earlier this month I told myself I'd stop using my Kat Von D foundation that's too light for me, as a concealer (IT'S FULL COVERAGE DON'T JUDGE ME.) I wandered into Sephora on a mall visit that I shouldn't have been buying makeup on, and saw they had just came out with a new concealer, and BOOM. I asked an associate at the store about it, and she said it was a dupe for the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (which I love but it's too expensive for me to justify buying) so I was instantly sold. It's definitely not as full coverage with the first layer, like the NARS concealer, but it's definitely buildable. The NARS concealer is $29, and the Sephora one is only $14 and pretty comparable, so it's definitely a new favorite! It blends easily, it comes in 20 shades, it's affordable, and is perfect for a highlight! I'll be repurchasing when I run out for sure!

FASHION:

Warm Beanie

This seems like such a basic thing, but where I live is in a ridiculous in between weather kind of thing right now. It's really warm during the day, and it gets really cool at night, and having a mostly shaved head, I always need to keep a beanie nearby to cover my head and ears. It's easy to throw on, be warm, comfy, and beanies look cute with just about anything, in my opinion!

INSTAGRAM PAGE:

@StudioMucci :

I came across this page through my explore page, and it caught my eye because of a bright pink colored picture like most of the pictures on Amina's feed! Amina Mucciolo is the founder of Studio Mucci Luxury Handmade Goods, a shop of home and party decal! She's best described as a unicorn in human form.

This month was pretty magical, because I got to see Purity Ring in concert, I went to my first Gay Pride festivities and meet some of my favorite drag queens! Overall, it was a pretty good month, but I'm excited to get into October, the spoopiest month of the year! I love Halloween so much, and my costume is going to be MAJOR. I'll probably do a video about that next month, so keep en eye out!

Stone brewing co. - Thunderstruck double IPA 19thAnniversary

image.jpg

With fall and winter quickly approaching I'm running out of time to constantly talk about ipa's. Soon I'll be spouting off about browns and stouts and porters and oktoberfesters, but before I do all that I have to tell you to go buy Stone's new Anniversary ale. Of course it's a giant hop bomb, that's expected. What's new and awesome here is the use of 100% Australian hops. Malt too. 4 hops specifically: topaz and galaxie but also newcomers ella and vic secret. The use of these make this beer one intense tropical fruit tasting, super sticky and dank ipa. To no surprise either as Stone is known for being kings of the ipa in my opinion. Sort of a heavy hitter at 8.7% abv this one is sure to please you hop heads searching for the new what's next. Cheers!

BEAST IN THE FIELD

Imagine the lowest, dirtiest, sludgiest, darkest two piece instrumental band you can think of. Well if Beast In The Field wasn't your first pic...well you are fucking up. The Band is comprised of drummer  Jamie Jahr and guitarist Jordan Pries. I once heard a story of how Jordan was attempting to have a guitar painted with the blood of a Virgin! these guys are seriously on  another level. being a two piece usually leaves a lot of extra space on stage and what better way to fill up that stage then with full stacks! this is an example of their stage set up!

if you dont wear ear protection then i feel really sorry for you. trust me you can still hear everything wearing ear plugs. Shit you can feel his low notes vibrating through your spine! And yes we know a lot of big bands will have the stage set up with dummy cabs. I can assure you, that is not the case with these dudes! The dudes just played Dirt Fest this past weekend but you can feel it for yourself at Frankies this weekend:

For real though. check out this video and head bang along! shits too good!

Giddy Up

River Road Ice House New Braunfels, Texas, on Saturday March 28th hosted the second annual Giddy Up Vintage Chopper fest. Riders from all over the country rode in to experience a day sharing drinks and swapping stories about life on road the and bike builds both new and old.

image2.PNG

The most notable of the builds was the breath taking 1969 Generator Shovelhead Chopper, built by Matt Jackson of the Austin Speed Shop, and a fully rebuilt Panhead motor built by Dan "Bacon" Carr at DC Choppers.

There is nothing more inspiring than being amongst a thousand strangers who can come together in the spirit of the classic chopper lifestyle, and treat each other as old friends. Check them out and make sure to save the date for next years Giddy Up!

Ride safe

Woman Crush: Wednesday Addams!

Who knew an 11 year old Christina Ricci, as Wednesday Addams, in a black with white peter pan collar dress would flash forward to 2015, and end up being such a huge trend. An effortlessly chic dress look, or a very last minute Halloween costume, accompanied by some braided pig-tails, tired eyes, pale skin, and a widows peak, the signature dress can be found at most clothing stores or websites! One of my favorite brands who kills the Wednesday Addams collar trend is a California based clothing, accessory, and shoe company, Deandri.

One of my favorite brands, Deandri , is consistently serving up some Wednesday Addams realness, whether it's a black with white collar dress, or a collared suspender crop top! They even have these fabulous BIBS! It may seem strange, but I feel like I remember thinking back years ago, "WHY hasn't anyone made something that I can put under any shirt/high neck dress as a collar?!" The internet is FULL of just little detachable collars, but when Deandri came out with the full bib, they changed the whole game! If it still sounds bizarre, check out the slideshow below, and be informed. Deandri is seriously killing the game with all of their innovative different takes on this contrasting collar trend! Every blogger I follow has sported pieces by Deandri, and tattooed mega babe, Kat Von D is crazy about Deandri. She's even gone as far to call their Black and White Grady Dress"Dress of the Year!" I think Deandri fits the whole "Vile Girl" style so perfectly!

All Deandri photos taken from their Instagram: @Deandri

Well now that you've got your Wednesday Addams dress, you just need the make-up and hair to go along with it. Watch the video below to complete the look!

This signature style looks great on anyone, and I myself have a few pieces that go along well with the theme, so for Halloween at work, I did a Wednesday look, to keep it within dress-code. Tons of stores like H&M, Romwe, and Forever 21 have all carried, or carry pieces like these, at reasonable prices!

Sierra Nevada _ Hop Hunter IPA

If I may quote (be lazy) the Sierra website: "Hop Hunter IPA harnesses the complex flavors of just-picked hops through an all-new method of steam distilling wet hops before they even leave the fields. This revolutionary technique captures and intensifies the natural flavors, creating a unique and intensely aromatic beer. Our custom process gathers pure hop oil which, when combined with traditional whole-cone hops in the brew kettle and in our Hop Torpedo, makes for an incredible IPA experience." I have a source that says they hired the guy at Crest toothpaste who distills the mint leaves. Who knows!

That being said, not only does this beer push new boundaries for brewing, the owner of Lagunitas was trying to sue Sierra over label likeness. Claiming Hop Hunters label looked too similar to the flagship Lagunitas IPA. You be the judge. The lawsuit was dropped because of all the negative feedback from the beer community. Either way, this shit is amazing. It smells like weed. That's always good. Cheers!

Wolverine Brewing - Gulo Gulo Imperial Pale Lager

Not only are lagers some of the hardest and most time consuming beers to brew, those are the only beers Wolverine Brewing makes. The insane part is how they manage to push the lager envelope making some serious use of their house yeast. Today I'm telling you to go out and experience their Gulo Gulo Lager. Especially if you're an IPA fan. It's made with Cascade, Chinook, Columbus, Warrior and Pilgrim hops and dry hopped twice with Cascade before it's done. This results in one damn smooth and heartily hopped lager. Smells and has the bite of an IPA but the crisp, yet light, mouth-feel of a lager. Oh, and it's 6.7% so again, just pushing that lager yeast higher and higher. As far as I know this beer is available year-round. Named Draft Magazine's top 25 beers of 2013! Pair this with your favorite brand of hotdogs. Cheers!

Bell's brewing - Cherry Stout

Well I'm back to stouts. I'll just keep doing whatever then. Next week I'll do a review on farts. Who cares? Really, I've come back to them because I found some of this seasons Cherry Stout. Comes out around October and typically disappears pretty quick. Made with 100% Michigan cherry's, Bell's Cherry Stout is a fine marriage of tart and sweet chocolatey malts. Lightly carbonated and 7%abv. The flavors only get better as this beer warms up. You could probably pair this with some chocolate cake or your favorite gallon of ben and jerrys. Because get fat and drunk at the same time. Love you. Cheers.

Sierra Nevada - Bigfoot Barley Wine Ale

It's not wine, ya dingus. It's beer. You haven't been paying attention. Nicely hopped, nicely malted and certainly a bold, boozy-sweetness. This multi-gold medal winner weighs in at a hefty 9.6% and you can taste it too. Shit warms the blood. Sick of shoveling already? Here's your reward. Don't live in areas that get snow? May you choke on this heavenly nectar. Centennial, Cascade & Chinook are pumped into this bitter beast matched with tons of 2 row barley and english caramel malts. It's just a big beer, okay? Hey, get drunk real fast thanks to my this thing here. Basically, you're welcome and go drink this beer already. Cheers!

BONUS!! Watch it ferment!

Bell's - Hopslam Double IPA

It's back again. That time of year I wait very impatiently for. The return of the ever-dank, Hopslam. I suppose I could chalk it up to my taste buds having the memory of a hamster, but this year it's just ever so delicious. Not that it isn't every time I have it, but I'm just glad it's around again. This 10% American Double IPA is brewed with honey and dry hopped with Simcoe. Not to mention the 6 other hop varieties it's actually brewed with. It's a very floral and fruity hopped brew. You only get Hopslam once a year so good luck fighting the hop hoarders for it. Though I hear there was an abundance of the stuff made this year and even grocery stores are carrying it. Hopefully you like in an area that gets Bell's, otherwise you should consider beer trading. Google that shit and get with the times. Your mouth wants you to put this in it and your genitals want to piss it out. Cheers!

THE MITTEN

It's coming whether we like it or not. That old-ass bitch, winter. I often like to stave off the brutal Michigan chill with beverages of the higher alcohol content variety. Including barley wines, quads and every once in a while, a cider. Hard ciders are gaining popularity at an insane speed here in the US and people are going nuts for them. Whether you think you have a gluten intolerance(you don't) or you just simply don't like beer, ciders are becoming the choice for a lot of people now. One cider I had tried last year simply blew me away as I had never heard of ciders being made this way. Aged in whiskey barrels. And why not? Beer is. Mead is. Virtue cider out of Fennville, MI makes tons of great ciders, but The Mitten just does a mouth good. A blend of seasons past ciders and fresh pressed cider brings not only tartness, but the unique qualities a whiskey barrel can impart. Vanilla, caramel and hints of oak mix with sweet and sour aged and fresh apples. It's one of life's perfect marriage of flavors. Pair with friends and fires. Oh, and donuts. Cheers!

ANTEVORTA

Meet Carter Jones of the band Antevorta. We first ran into carter last month at the Modex Massacre. Antevorta played the very last spot at the end of a long three day fest. Even though everyone was tired and worn out Carter was still the guy who was running jumping and rolling around on stage! We definitely appreciated their energy and commitment to playing even when you are tired and worn out! So we invited Carter over for a quick interview and talk about their upcoming ep! Check out the video and all their tracks on Itunes.
