In celebration of this weeks Force Awakens premier we present to you Death Star! Finally an indica that is appropriate for night and day time. Of course it would be named after Star Wars. Death Star is a blend of the indica strain Sensi Star and the sativa Sour Diesel. Both strains have such dramatic effects that you would think the high from them being put together would drive you insane. Death Star is known to be a heavy indica, which is true but, the amount of euphoria that it takes from its sativa side is amazing. This strain is recommended for daytime or nighttime. It has great pain relief and tones of mental help. I would say this is a great strain to keep around for an anytime use. Its fairly popular now-a-days so, i'm sure you won't have trouble finding it! Keep it real! -Colin
A few weeks ago, I touched on a cannabis product that most of us stoners call dabs. This week i'm going to talk about one of the methods you take dabs. Dab rigs are essentially bongs for the most part. They do make dab pipes but, they are absolutely awful and I don't recommend using them. The way you use dab rigs is a bit different.... Some say that it reminds them of how you would smoke crack and in which is why some don't partake in a dab sessions. You can use any normal water bong. The only extra pieces you need is a torch, dab nail and a dabber. Dab nails are made out of either quartz, ceramic or titanium. Each nail has different benefits. Dabbers are a glass or titanium rod that you use to touch the dab (wax) to the dab nail. You consume the dab by heating the nail with the torch then taking the dabber with the wax on the end of it and putting to the heated nail. The reason that dabbing is even popular is because it sedates you more than any other way of consuming marijuana. For patients with pain, some say it works better than the best narcotic. For stoners, they say it feels like the first time they've ever smoked again. Dabbing is the ultimate high. Peace! -Colin
Considered a bit of a neo-berliner, Dogfish Head's Festina Peche is one of my favorite summer seasonals. This year seems to be a bit more on the tart-side which, for my money, is great. Peach sugars are included in the fermentation process so the yeast is farting all that nice peachy flavor right into the brew. It's a light peach too so this isn't really that overly sweet type of brew. Extremely drinkable and refreshing. Perfect for this time of year. It almost has a pinot grigio essence to it and would pair great with the same things a white wine would pair with: fish, chicken and salads. A hazy straw color with a fluffy white head, the nose upon first pouring reminds me of what your sock would smell like after cutting the grass. I mean that in the best way possible. It's a little sweet on the nose but the funk is there. Berliners are meant to be drinkable and this one rings in at 4.5%abv so you can have more and more. A nice alternative to the overly sweet shandy beers that tend to find their way around this time of year. Cheers!

Festival season is at it's absolute peak right now, and I can't get enough of all of the cute looks I see my favorite bloggers rocking at them all! Nothing cool happens where I live, so I just admire from afar and imagine what I would wear... A GIRL CAN DREAM OKAY!!!!
When dressing for a festival, you want to be in a comfortable, lightweight, and cute outfit! Being in a desert, sharing space with hundreds to thousands of people, in 100+ degree weather, you really want to make sure your outfit is not only fashionable, but also functional! I put together three outfits that I would wear to a festival if I ever got the chance to go to one!
This first look is a pretty simple one, but I feel like the appeal of it would be the contrast of the simple outfit, with the colorful accessories! The second look is pretty similar to this first one, and I did that on purpose, just to show that accessories really make the outfit for these looks! Since the weather is so warm out, most people (including myself) want to wear as little as possible, and when your outfit is minimal, it's just accessories that are really making the outfit come all together! The sneakers for comfort, since you're probably going to be doing a lot of walking, and dancing around!
Sunglasses, and a hat are essential for the hot and sunny desert days at a music festival! If you're not into sun hats, I would even do a visor of some sort with this look! I love this cardigan/knitted kimono with this look so much and I don't think it'll be too hot to wear it, since it isn't a solid knit, and it has all the holes in it!
Who needs pants? A dress is always a good choice for hot weather of course, and with this tie dye dress being as flowy as it is, you'll catch every much needed breeze as they come! I paired this dress with a pair of lilac jelly heeled sandals to give it more of a 90's girl vibe! The cross body bag will be great for carrying the necessities for a festival like your phone, your lipstick, some cash for snacks and water, and maybe even a polaroid camera to get snaps of all the fun you'll be having!
This last look is another fairly simple outfit, paired with some cute accessories that pull it all together!
Here's a video all about festival essentials, what to wear, and what to pack!
If you're going to be going to any kind of festival this Summer, please be safe, drink lots of water, eat plenty, try not to stray from your group too much, and most importantly, HAVE FUN!

Born Free 7. Sturgis of the west coast, but without all the baggers and Kid Rock-esque bands playing with Bud Light/MTV sponsored banners on stage. A weekend where riders from all over the country ride to Irvine, CA on bikes both old and new, American or foreign, to convene and live out a weekend embracing the biker lifestyle.
Whether you live East Coast or West, North or South, I would highly recommend checking out this show. I spent a week last June, although unable to go, following a few riders make their way across the US. One in particular was Mikey Arnold (IG @mikeyrevolt) as he rode from Cleveland out to Cali, documenting the entire trip through his camera lens. Absolutely awe inspiring pics, from the canyons of Utah, the mountains of Colorado, or being stuck camping out with a burnt out exhaust, it is plenty to make you want to get up and just go.
There is nothing that I love more about riding than the sense of brotherhood that comes with two wheels and an engine, and if anything, Born Free is proof of that. So take the opportunity to check out the show here, or make your way out to the west coast for 2 days of rubbing shoulders with fellow brother and sisters.
Ride safe

I was at a bar last night where some older gentlemen next to me were experiencing their first sour beer. One guy said it tasted like a fruity bandaid. He's not wrong. Most people assume a beer with a sour taste has gone bad and cannot find the appreciation behind the talent it takes to make a truly good sour. It's certainly an acquired taste, but when you get it there will never be enough. One brewery who certainly understands the delicate art of funkifying beers is the Bruery out of California. Tart of darkness has all the great chocolately-roasty qualities of a stout but this ponys trick is an amped up carbonation(lessens when aged, highly recommended) and a HUGE sour bite. Even thinking about this beer makes the back of my jaw water. It's definitely overwhelming if it's your first dive into the sour world, but such a giant treat once you're addicted to them. A low 5.6%abv to so drink away. Honestly, buy a bottle and forget about it in your cool basement for a couple years. Thank me later. Cheers!

Mad props to Red Bull Detroit for doing what myself and I know others, have wanted to do since we were kids: To Ride the Silver Dome! For those who who don't know, the Silver Dome is the old Detroit Lions Stadium. Every time I came to the SD growing up, I couldn't help but size up every wall, stairs or rails in a Tony Hawk Pro Skater kind of way. Always imagining that I could actually land all of these tricks without totally killing myself. Now years after the dome has retired. Red Bull chose one special kid to fullfill my childhood dream. This lucky duck is a local Detroit BMX rider is named Tyler Fernengel!
Again mad props to everyone involved. We are full of envy and we are definitely "Not" going to break in as soon as possible to ride it for ourselves! Check the video out here !
welcome to michigan deschutes! i'm very happy to finally be getting this Oregon brewery on the regular. having just tried this beer yesterday i can happily say i'm eager for more. this year round ipa offers such a juicy, citrusy flavor given to it by the citra and mosaic hops. two of my favs. great malt balance, this beer doesn't have too big of a mouth feel. very easy drinking at 6%abv. this is one of those ipas that has such a balance and just the right amount of sweetness that is going to make you want one after another. pair with seafoods, red sauce pastas and cold cuts. duh. cheers!

Meet Nicla DiCosmo and Michel Bezoza, the two New Jersey raised Co-Founders of the lifestyle, clothing and accessory company called Gypsy Warrior! First launching the first edition of Gypsy Warrior's website back in 2010, the brand is heavily inspired by tattoo culture, rock n roll, high fashion, NYC, and vintage! In no time at all, the brand exploded overnight and rocketed straight to the top of shops and brands similar in style! By 2011, they opened their doors to the first GW store in Ridgewood New Jersey! On my recent trip to New Jersey last week, I was able to visit the Ridgewood store! Gypsy Warrior carries everything from clothes, accessories, shoes, pillow cases, tarot cards, candles, flasks, tapestry, and tons more!
Now, you may be asking yourself, well Melanie, what the hell does Gypsy Warrior mean?
These girls have made a complete image and a character for their brand, and I think that is so brilliant! The girl I see in my head is the kind of girl you see at music festivals, running around barefoot, and dancing her nights away, lost in the music. She's bold, careless, and just wants to have fun! I feel we've all met girls like this, and Gypsy Warrior is the perfect brand for her! Not only does GW have their own designs, and styles, but they also carry a lot of other brands in store, and online as well, such as Disturbia, YRU, MINKPINK, REVERSE and so much more!
So admittedly I went to New Jersey for this store. I was born in New Jersey, but the town I'm from is gross now, so Gypsy Warrior is what I was looking forward to seeing the most! It was so great to finally get there, after wishing that one day I'd be able to! It was almost surreal. I'm a huge nerd I know. But when we went in, we were greeted by the girl who was working there, and she was very helpful the whole time, and it felt like I was being taken care of while I was shopping! Also, I'm almost positive that Michel was actually at the store when I was shopping, which was pretty cool!
I didn't buy too much, because a lot everything I wanted, they didn't have in my size (What a relief.... My bank account would have hated me..) However, I did end up getting this cute "Girl Gang" ringer top, a Gypsy Warrior Jack Daniels inspired sleeveless top, a cleaver necklace, and an ADORABLE Ouji Board embroidered iron-on patch!
I was so in love with the general set up of the store, and the merchandising of it. I have this huge obsession with pink neon signs, and there were these two gorgeous ones that say, "Wanderland" and "She loves adventure" If you live close by Ridgewood New Jersey, and have time to stop by the store, you absolutely should!! Also, there's a delicious donut shop right next door, so double reason to go!
Gypsy Warrior is the perfect representation of a Vile Girl, 100%!!

MAKE SURE YOU GUYS CATCH THE DUDES ON THIS YEARS 2015 WARPED TOUR!
Ever since trying my first Green Flash brew when I had met their marketing team, I knew these guys had a penchant for big flavors. Just one sip of that west coast IPA and they had a fan for life. Now, I've had their double stout, and while it is delicious, it is not what I expected out of the Silva. Silky and creamy, and this amazing butterscotch flavor I have never tasted from a barrel-aged stout. Even on the nose you get that burnt sugar smell, like a crème brûlée. As far as I've read this is a blended stout. They first age the double stout for 17 months(!) in bourbon barrels, then blend in fresh stout as to not overwhelm the palate with whatever happened in those barrels. Sure there's the usual roasty-chocolatey niceness that comes with stouts, but this one has that little something else that I've just never come across in an aged beer. Which makes for a very unique and desirable brew. Cheers!
Meet miss Dominique (Niki) Urban, a Detroit College for Creative Studies 2012 graduate who went on to create some of the most breathtaking, shocking and creepy art, and to create Niki Urban Artwork! HEAVILY Influenced by the Polish Gothic architecture of her youth, THIS VILE GIRL ISN'T HERE TO PLEASE THE PRETTY, FRILLY, AND CUTE PARTS OF YOUR DREAMS.
"Urban's body of work for Red Bull House of Art takes the audience through the back alleys of a dark dream steeped in fantasy; a part of your imagination you don't normally explore."
Her work has been called obsessive for the attention to detail. With her art being displayed at the Red Bull House of Art in April 2015, it was Urban's largest gallery showing to date.
Urban says she enjoys the tedious nature of some of the mediums she enjoys using in her art. What those are you may ask? Well.. The question is what doesn't she use.. Niki uses mediums such as paint, charcoal, digital art, and even ink pen on goat and sheep skulls! She's done many skateboard designs, portraits of others, and of herself as well!
Urban says her works usually have a very "gloomy" or dark theme to them, and it comes from a special relationship with fear and anxiety, the same reason I believe why people like watching horror films, and getting on horrifying amusement park rides, just for the thrill. With the creepier sides of things, you can go to the deepest parts of your mind, and pull out the most illogical scenarios, and characters. So why not go with it, and keep it a little creepy, right?

In May, we celebrate women who ride, and if there is anyone who deserves the spot light for advocating women riders, it's Alicia Mariah Elfving. Her website, aptly named after her own moniker "The Moto Lady", is a collection of all things motorcycle. She promotes a sense of community for female riders, giving gear and industry reviews, and gives a venue for aspiring riders to talk and discuss the best ways to break into this lifestyle.
When you peruse her website, you will find it hard to escape pics of her and her beloved Ducati Monster 750, which she overhauled from one end to the other. It was this build that actually caught my eye and caused me to start following her on Instagram (@motolady). Her dedication and determination with this build was inspiring and gave hope to someone like me who gets frustrated at the simplest mechanical set backs. Whether you're into cruisers or sport bikes, it's hard not to appreciate this bike from head light to tailpipe.
Alicia recently released shots from a collaboration she did with the motorcycle documentary team at Stories of Bike, so make sure to swing by her website for updates, and check out what she's doing to elevate women's motorcycle culture.
